Steps Up To The Plate
SARASOTA (Oct. 27, 2005) Learning that there are critical shortages in Broward and Palm Beach counties, Phil Wasserman, President of PRFS - a statewide retirement income planning firm - with the help of PUBLIX in Sarasota, Florida State Representative Irv Schlossberg, and Florida State Senator Ron Kline, arranged at company expense of tens of thousands of dollars to hire semi-trucks to deliver ice and water to people in South Florida areas of desperate need. These deliveries originated in Sarasota.
PRFS is working with the EOC in both counties. So far, emergency supplies have been trucked to Westside Regional Hospital in Broward County, where they were then redistributed to many area hospitals desperately short of water and ice, and to people is desperate need throughout Palm Beach County, including elderly diabetics whose need for ice to maintain their insulin was critical.
Phillip Roy Financial Services staff - themselves without power, and short on gas - assisted with the distribution to hospitals and senior citizens in both counties along with State Representative Irv Schlossberg.
